Space Project Director - Test Systems
Denmark - Project Director - Test Systems - Permanent position with our client in Denmark a leading provider of space satellite equipment. Presently strengthening engineering team with addition of Project Director, who will have full responsibility for managing projects concerning delivery of satellite test systems for onboard power electronics, based on detailed approach and components developed by clients R&D department.Responsibilities • Ensuring on-time delivery of Power Test Systems within budget • Day to day technical and programmatic management of several Power Test System projects • Tight management of project budget, incl. sub-supplier negotiation and close monitoring • Ensuring externally manufactured items are delivered to required quality, just-in-time for appropriate integration step • Liaison with customer representatives at both engineering and managerial level, in negotiation meetings, project milestone meetings, progress meetings etc. • Drafting of system integration plans based on proven components for Power Test Systems • Development of production plans according to tight timescales • Ensuring adherence to production plans and overseeing system test and integration activities • Identification of project risks and management of suitable risk mitigation plans • Provision of technical support and estimations during tendering for new projects
Desirable Background Proven track record in management of projects requiring delivery of spacecraft test systems to European space primes / ESA.
Essential skills • European citizens only who ideally will have worked for companies like: Thales Alenia Space, Astrium, ESA, OHB, SSTL • Commercially demonstrated experience in project management of European space related projects • Knowledge of on-board Power Electronics components and subsystems • Fluency in English
Desirable skills • Previous experience of developing power electronics and/or related control software
